We just wrapped up our prototype build for a set of Audi A6 2.7TT downpipes. Connecting between the K03′s and the slip fit factory cat back connection, these pipes replace the factory two catalyst system with a single 200 cell metallic high flow three way catalyst or a straight track pipe.
The install went fairly straightforward and the design has been on the customers car for a week now without any check engine lights or leaks (which is pretty impressive given the metal on metal sealed temporary stub pipes on our customers car while we finalize testing prior to adding a full catback to the car.
The amazing part about the design is how stealth it is. With a factory catback installed, the sound level increase is almost imperceptible. Featuring 16 gauge T304 stainless tubing and flanges and tig welded inside and out with waterjet cut and hand ported connection at the turbo, these pipes are a great option to add to your Audi for improved flow and power. We may also offer a quick disconnect track pipe option that will allow you to swap out your cats using a simple latch over v-band design for easy removal on track days.
The current design features a pair of flexible couplings and integrated stainless O2 sensor bungs. Retail on these is still being calculated, but we're pretty certain that with a full mandrel bent design we'll be able to aggressively price them while retaining optimal design considerations.
